Home Raising Scottish Terriers since 1991

Located near the shores of Puget Sound, our small kennel strives to breed healthy Scotties for show and companionship. Since 1991 we have had Scottish Terriers in our home, in the late-nineties we started our kennel and breeding program.

With health, attitude and conformance being held in balanced portions, we strive to produce the best Scottish Terriers possible. This is not a business for us, we never short cut our health care or welfare of our Scotties, they are truly home raised. In 2003, from a litter sired by CH Glenby's Bold Adventure came our first champions, CH Ayrshire's Midnight Rambler (Zoë) and CH Ayrshire's Twist of Fate (Mollie), these girls represent our foundation. While we do show our Scotties and believe this is one means of demonstrating quality dogs, we also recognize that quality and healthy Scotties do exist outside of the ring and while we strive to use only AKC champions in our breeding program, we will under rare circumstances use other outstanding Scotties.

Our line is VWD clear by test and we have begun to certify our line with the Canine Health Information Center (CHIC) and Orthopedic Foundation for Animals (OFA) registries, CH Ayrshire’s Midnight Secret and CH Ayrshire’s Twist of Fate are the first of our line to be listed. The main purpose of these registries is to establish a database of permanent standardized test results for owners, breeders and canine health professionals to use.

Our breeding program is based on solid stock that we have developed through our breeding program, to date; we have always gone outside our kennel for quality stud dogs but that may change in the future. Our pedigrees contain one Westminster Best in Show Champion (1995), multiple Best in Show and Group winners and, of course, several generations of AKC, Canadian and United Kingdom Scottish Terrier champions.

Ayrshire’s is an AKC Registered Kennel name.
